Don JazzyMavin boss speaks on taking a risk with Johnny Drille
Don Jazzy admits the singer's type of music is not popular, but is hoping that with time, more Nigerians will get familiar with his sound.
Don Jazzy opens up on his skepticism about signing the new Mavin acts, particularly dwelling on Johnny Drille.
Speaking with HipTV, he says he hopes in the next couple years, they get bigger and increase their fanbase.
On Johnny Drille, the genious producer reveals he has been listening to Johnny Drille for years, admitting that his music is not particularly mainstream but is banking on him to become a more popular household name as time goes on.
"I hope Nigerians start to appreciate more of Johnny Drille's sound - alternative music, I have loved him for like three years now, I have listened to him for like three years now but I was thinking, are Nigerians going to like this, are they going to buy this thing, how many fans are we going to get, is he going to fill up Eko Hotel..." Don Jazzy said expressing his initial fears.
The producer maestro however rests in the fact that Mavin records is already suceessful and if anybody is to be taking such risks, it should be one of those people, expressing hope that Nigerians will come around getting to vibe to the 'My beautiful love' crooner.
